upsetting or offensive websites > upsetting websites > I saw a website with adult content/pornography that may be criminally obscene under UK law, what should I do?

If you think you have seen material that is criminally obscene then you should report it to the Internet Watch Foundation

If the content reported to the IWF is believed to be criminally obscene, and is found to be hosted in the UK, then the IWF and police will work with the hosting service provider to have the content removed as soon as possible. The police may seek to bring criminal charges against the person responsible for the content.

If it is believed to be criminally obscene under UK law, but not hosted in the UK, the IWF cannot act.

However, you could try contacting the hosting ISP and lodge a complaint under their Acceptable Use Policy.  If the content infringes their policies they might consider removing it.
